Diversity is Key

There is no one way to do anything…nothing…nada…nope. There isn’t. You can believe there is only one way to do something and go with that, but to say it’s the only way to do something is untrue.

Some of it is shown by people learning to adapt to their disability or their culture or a simple thing like being left-handed instead of right-handed. Nothing much in life is 100%…except maybe being born and dying.

My favorite way to show diversity is in music. I am super grateful to the people who create lyric music videos and post them on Youtube. I am also grateful for Wikipedia and the people who work to make that happen on a daily basis.

There are songs that have been redone and sometimes in a different genre’ than the first recording. Sometimes all of the recordings are successful and other times people like one version over the other version(s).

Christmas songs are a major source of redos. It seems like almost a “rite of passage” to be famous enough to create a Christmas Album.

The ones that surprise me though are the ones where my husband says, “So and so recorded this first.” I look it up and sometimes find it has been recorded even before that.

Some songs become an artist’s “signature song” and I’m not sure anyone else would record it. It just “fits” that person so well that you automatically know part of its magnificence is that artist.

I’ve written about this before. If you’re a follower of my blog, you may remember the post.

Currently, my most favorite redo is Tennessee Whiskey done by VoicePlay. That said, many, many people have done it. There is no right or wrong version, only as you like to yours and others like to theirs.

So, be your own diverse self. Yes, there may be someone down the street creating the same kind of business or life or hobby as you…however…how you do it and how they do it is completely different. It just is.

As an analogy, one rose doesn’t think any thing less of itself for another rose blooming. Be your own kind of blooming beautiful.
