Yesterday I was out and about shopping at a Flea Market with my family. We looked around as that’s the place for it. I happened to see this bush amid other plants and the beautiful red caught my eye. It’s also the kind of bush that was growing at a house we’d lived in many years ago.
The other bush was massive…like 6-7 foot massive, lots of red, and lots of hummingbirds came by. It was one of my favorite things while living there.
Since then, I’ve bought other smaller bushes, like 4 inch size bushes, to help me grow others as I super love everything about the plant.
Well, my track record is to buy a handful of things I love and hoping only one will survive. So far, I’ve got one Crepe Myrtle tree and one Climbing Rose that didn’t die even after the horse ate it. lol So, this new bush DOES have a shot at surviving, it’s just a slim shot.
My oldest says as long as I don’t touch the plant, it has a substantial rate of survival. So, I’m giving her charge over where to plant it and my husband and youngest charge over actually planting it.
While this isn’t my best thing to do, I still work on this area of my life because I love color and flowers and plants. To me, there’s something grounding in touching the leaves or admiring the view.
Maybe you too keep working on some area of your life that isn’t your best area, but you enjoy doing it. To me, that’s plenty enough reason to continue to do that. Sometimes it isn’t in the perfection, but in the moments of enjoyment.
So, here’s to another plant…and the potential beauty of it for years to come within my garden.
