Christian Warnings to Psychics, why?

I happened upon a thread post from a member of a group I am in. The lady said she’d decided to embrace her psychic side. Lots of us in the group cheered her on, some that related, some that didn’t. Others in the group jumped in with bible verses and christian warnings.

All of us handled the thread well and some of us agreed to disagree. That said, some of it I don’t really get. I try to ponder the fact that a christian wants to make sure I’m on a good path by telling me what I’m doing wrong. I don’t get it.

My thinking is that we, as adults, are all seeking our own path and some of us are very sure of the path we’re taking. I wonder if those that are trying to steer us “over there” are unsure of their own path…or if we seem like an easy target for their own personal points to get into heaven.

I asked one lady what she was trying to get out of it. She said she wasn’t trying to get anything out of it, she just thought we should know.

I don’t necessarily go around to churches or even individual people and tell them they’re doing things wrong and that they should consult their nearest intuitive business.

This really baffles me. Maybe I am sensitive about it and probably am, but…even when I try to rationally think on it…it’s baffling.

Imperfections and Talents

As I lay down for a nap today, the thought came to mind, “I have imperfections, but I have talents too. The talents win!” That is a great set of words to use as a mantra or positive thinking focus.

All of us have imperfections. There is really no such thing as a perfect person. All of us also have talents. There are things that people are drawn to us for, either what we can do or how we make them feel. It just occurred to me that’s part of the yin/yang of us as people.

When we look at someone, do we see the talents shining forth or do we see the imperfections they sometimes show first? Some of us choose to put more of our life into what we’re good at, despite the flaws we have. Others choose to live in the flaws, thinking they’re only as good as the next need or that there’s a sour note in every aspect of life.

This is a huge revelation to me. This is really how we see things or act. Maybe we can be more consciously aware of this in ourselves and decide what we could be looking for in others and in life. Most importantly, we should be shining our best and brightest if we want to light up the world. 🙂

Talents shine bright. Imperfections are shades of grey we hide behind. How will you go about this life from this day forward?

Faith or Fear?

I am about to take a little trip. By the time this is posted, the trip will have gotten underway and we’ll be smack in the middle of it. I was talking with someone and she listed things to be mindful of…bring blankets and water…watch the weather…be careful while driving. Of course I will take all of these things into consideration.

Later, as my mind was doing it’s “processing”, I reminded myself that my faith has to be bigger than the fear of “what ifs”. If I’m to trust God as I say I do, I’m all in for his care of me and my loved ones.

To be honest, last year at about this time, life had me making almost the same exact trip, for a different reason. On that trip, I drove through a snow storm (didn’t realize I was in one and had never done so before), broke down miles away from just about anyone I knew (about an hour from a dear friend), and had to think of a game plan with my family…husband in one state, daughter in another, son in another…trying to make sure I was okay and things could work out.

Things did work out. I was okay. God got me through it with safety and grace.

Think about this…is your faith bigger than your fear? Even if you get one of those “what went wrong” incidents, you’re still going to get through it. God is where I’m at, his grace is my shield, his love is everlasting.

Colors as Signs

Colors are such awesome bits of the world that are actually quite complex. On the surface, they seem like things that happen in the world…flowers, the sky, the oceans, fabric creations, and so on. However, we’re all drawn to certain colors based on our views of the world and current needs. The colors you have in your wardrobe right now may not be the colors you had two years ago. Is that interesting to you? I find it fascinating!

I read some books and studies about colors a few years ago. The more people asked me about my knowledge, the deeper my understanding of colors became. I now intuitively understand colors in their depth, from single favorites to combination mixes. I regularly notice the messages colors tell.

So, what about colors as signs? You may have found yourself buying clothing or paint in a color you didn’t before. You wonder why and may feel refreshed when you wear or see it. It’s that color cheering you on, encouraging your growth, raising your vibe.

There’s one color I see from time to time that is sort of like a “wink” from God. I don’t usually buy the color, but it shows up. Once was in a major shopping store, a beautiful shirt, on the shelf with the toilet paper. lol That shirt wasn’t at all near it’s department. Obviously someone had to have placed that shirt there, deciding not to get it for some reason, but it being out of place when I walked by was a sign for me…a wink if you will.

Recently my mother gave me one of those magazine sheets with some paint colors on it because she knows I love the coral shades. I love that sheet of colors and it’s in my purse right now! Yesterday I went to a thrift store looking for a particular item, a light sweater for my youngest. I explained to the owner what I was looking for and she found a light sweater on a rack she was just about to put out. The shade of that sweater, coral. It’s the perfect cover for a dress with no sleeves that my daughter will be wearing in a few days.

Have you considered the colors in your life this way? Do you surround yourself with the colors that feel restful? Do you choose exciting colors? If you feel stuck in some way, especially about your house or home office, changing the paint color of a room will shift  you out of stuck towards a new vibe.

Writing Letters to Friends

I’m an avid letter writer. I love putting a fun pen to some beautiful paper!! I used to pass notes in school, lol, then went on to pen little notes for my friends. I’ve since graduated to writing intuitive notes for people I don’t even know. God gives me the words, I write them down, mail them, and find out later those words were just the right ones that person needed to hear and be comforted by. It’s profound!

You may or may not be a letter writer. Not everyone likes the pen and paper as well as I do. My seven year old daughter doesn’t. lol However, in my thinking, writing a letter to a friend (or someone else, like soldiers), is taking time to give a little bit of yourself to someone else. It’s giving them space of whatever you’re talking about.

You can write a gripe letter, you can write a happy event letter, you can write a prayer letter, or anything else that comes to mind for that person. You’ve got to pause in your life to write it and that person has to pause in their life to read it. So the recipient is also someone giving you their time. Think about it. It’s like visiting in two separate spaces over time. Cool, huh?!!! I think so!!!!

If you’re not up for writing to someone, but you really do want them to know you’re thinking of them, you’re welcome to use a letter writing service (like what I offer) or you can find many online card companies that can send something for you to someone.

Keeping in touch with those that matter to you is important. It creates a stronger connection. It spreads love.

God knows beforehand

Yesterday I was going to a thrift store to pick up some clothing for a child I’d be taking on a trip with us soon. He comes over regular and I had clothing for a night or two, but not necessarily enough for a week. I could have asked his Dad for more of his home wardrobe, but I figure at $1 an item, several extra clothes I could get.

As I’m looking for things, it occurs to me that the child needed something nice for the special event we were going to. I know his parents didn’t have that on hand as not everyone does. I also knew this was the only stop I’d be making for the clothes. So I prayed right then and there and said, “God, you knew I’d need the nice clothing too, even before I just realized at this moment, please help me find it.”

I looked among the boys clothing and found a really nice pair of pants and a button down shirt. My young daughter also found a tie for him…not sure we’re going to use that though…what kid wants a tie. lol

Even so, I prayed for an answer to something I needed an immediate solution to and had forgotten to pray about beforehand. God knew. God provided. All is well.

Being Gifted and Unique

Hi! I think we’re all gifted and unique in a certain way. Even if we’re doing the same thing as someone else, who we are as individuals, our personalities, our views on life, how we feel, how we go about things…all of these things are completely different in each individual. An easy analogy to this is singers. Some songs have been sung by many different people. Yet each version is it’s own unique piece. Some people may like all versions, some may like some, some may terribly dislike others. This is how life is and sets us apart from each other…even when we’re doing the same thing as someone else. Think about this for a moment, it’s huge.

If you think you’re not good at anything, if you just think the routine of your day is all you have, you’ve simply not noticed what others see in you. There are people who come to you because you’re good at something. It could be making that perfect apple pie. It could be giving that sincere hug. It could be your perfection with  numbers. There’s a great many things that it could be, some of it may look ordinary, but this thing sets you apart in some ways and allows you to shine in a way that attracts those who are looking for what you seek…it could be current friends who know you already…or it could be someone placed upon your path because you have what they need at that moment. It’s outstanding really.

I’m blessed with lots of talents. Some were born out of a need to create something for a family member…skin salve/cream or crocheting hats. Others were born for reasons I don’t know of, but can do…writing intuitive comfort letters, understanding the messages of colors, and being a little psychic. I use any of them when I feel the urge…sometimes directly from God (in the instances with the comfort letters mostly).

You are talented. You are unique. You are important. In this tapestry we call life, your thread matters. 🙂

Having Strong Faith

I believe a person should have a faith so strong and so secure, that someone of another faith or path doesn’t sway them. You should be sure of how you feel and how you walk your journey.

When people of other faiths ask me about my faith, I tell them, “God and I are good.” It’s that simple for me and should be the end of “inquiring to change me”.

There was a man and his friend who came to my house one time to preach and inquire about my faith. At first, I looked at him and said, “God and I are good.” He just couldn’t understand what that meant. He really was rather bothered by it. I then go on to say I was a Catholic many years ago. This was something he could understand and “attack”. He proceeded to tell me all the things wrong with being a Catholic and why I should listen to him instead. It was an odd conversation in many ways.

I realized later that he couldn’t understand something he had not come across before…a simple trusting faith. He did know how to attack another faith though. I find that a slight character flaw.

Each of us understands the world in different ways. The culture of the Pentecostal religion may speak to one person’s soul, while the culture of the Catholic religion may speak to another’s soul, and on and on for all the religions to choose from. Even to not have a religion.

It is one thing to inquire if a person is actively seeking a change in their faith and give guidance according to personal knowledge therein. It is something completely different and rude to bash another religion so as to make yours seem brighter and the more holy one.

We gain by being a helping hand, not by thrashing in words.

When you’re aiming for the finish line, but end up on a detour.

What about that, huh?! Sometimes we think our goal is to a certain point in time…a “finish line” if you will. But, I have found, many, many times, that the point is to get you going in that direction to then give you a detour along the way to something better.

You need to see where you’re going…so you plot this course. God sees you going along, but throws in this detour you didn’t expect. You have no choice to go that way because the road ahead has become closed.

Once in awhile, you may still end up where you were going to begin with…just on a slightly longer journey. Most of the time though, the “end” wasn’t the right “end” and the detour was the right spot all along. In hindsight, it could even be comical sometimes.

There are various reasons for this. You obviously went in that direction to accomplish something you had your mind set to do. God knew this, but he also knew he had to get you going in THAT particular direction to shift you to something better for yourself and possibly someone else.

I went to life insurance training school. I thought that was a real direction for me. It turns out it wasn’t at all. However, I learned some valuable information I was able to then pass along to someone who needed that information. This is one of the examples in my life of how I was aiming for one thing, to become a life insurance agent, but totally got a detour along the way that was extremely valuable and meant to be much more so than where I thought I was headed.

In the know flow

When you’re on the right track of a thing, your life flows fairly easily. Happenings are almost life gifts given to you. I remember when my husband and I were house hunting many years ago. We’d looked and looked and had seen quite a few houses all over the area. Some we immediately said “no” to and some we thought long on; however, when we found a little house out farther yonder than even we lived then, we just knew it was ours. The realtor lady said someone else was looking at it, but we knew it was ours and that the other people would pass…they did. From the moment we looked at that house, the flow was instant. Setting up ourselves to get that house was easy, the mortgage was easy, and everything in between. On the day we signed for that house, a rainbow appeared in the sky…reassuring me we were indeed in the right flow. We adored that house for three years.

Hmmm, I once transferred jobs because the signs were there and that flow was easy. The signs haven’t always been easy in some aspects, but they’re still there to help me along my way. Maybe I’m not always on the right flow, but that doesn’t mean I’m not always protected, guided, being useful along the way.
