I was raised Catholic, but sometimes went to a Pentecostal church with my grandparents. One Sunday morning, while at church with my grandparents, I came into possession of a plastic bookmark that stated, “God is Love”. I hung that bookmark on my teenage cork board and there it stayed. Somehow, that one little bit of something was like a rock that sustained me, assured me, helped me see God in a loving way. I didn’t gain much from the religious classes I went to as a Catholic child. I even taught those same classes as an adult to kindergartners for a couple of years. Through it all, the only thing I learned about God, is Love, from a bookmark. That bookmark is in my Senior keep book. 🙂 This is the basis of my faith and the collaboration we have in working on my life as I live it.
