Gifts, God, and Jesus

I believe all of us have gifts and talents meant for us to shine and share and uplift. How do you feel about that? Do you believe you’ve got something extra? I believe you do. I believe each person does. Sometimes those extras need more refining, like singing or learning the human body to become a doctor in some way. Other times, they come easier and may seem like just something you’re good at, like making apple pie or listening to a friend’s troubles.

What about psychic gifts? I believe these are valid God given gifts and talents. I was just stating online how I tried to separate the two in my own life. According to the people holding the Bible, the things I do are considered sins. However, if one were to look closer at certain aspects of the Bible, the Jesus they speak of that saves them is also the Jesus that prophesied, healed the sick, and listened to God directly.

To deny any of these spiritual gifts is to deny Jesus in some way. I mean, if the Bible says he did these things and that we are made of God just like he is, then it stands to reason that we’re all gifted in some way and some of us are spiritually gifted in ways that Jesus was.

I have said before and will say this many times, Jesus came to teach us how to live our lives with a loving God presence. The fact that he asked God to forgive people is something he chose to do. He chose this, in my thinking, because people were not listening to his messages all along. They were still lost sheep.

If you’re looking to follow the Bible to find God, start with Jesus’ life, make notes. See how you feel about things then. For me, I’ve been listening to God for years on a personal level. Sometimes he directs me to Bible verses as needed, but mostly he directs me in other ways.

I am psychically gifted and have solid faith in God. This is the path I live. I know not everyone will understand it. I’m okay with this. I am here to be of service for those who are seeking something different and may need my guidance or words of comfort.

Having Faith, part 2

I am feeling the zone, so here’s more of the thinking thoughts.

I may loose one or two of you right here with this paragraph. I am okay with that. I believe Jesus, according to the bible, came to teach us how to live that one-on-one with God. I don’t believe it’s about Jesus being a Savior as in he lost his life for our sake. I think, if you were to look at the Jesus passages and do your best to live in the way Jesus lived, your life would take a dramatic turn for the better and more peace will come to you.

Jesus trusted God completely…with every aspect of his life. If he needed clarity, he found a quiet spot and prayed. If he needed help with a situation, he prayed. If he felt led by God to do something, he did it.

This is how I live with God. A direct communication of love, faith, and understanding.

In the bible there is a statement saying: Jesus answered, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Many, many people believe that means through believing in Jesus as their Savior by dying on the Cross for them.

What if, just…for thought, what if it means to live a life like Jesus did? I believe it was about trusting God as one LIVES, not as thinking you’re saved because he died for you. He died because the mortal powers that be wanted to silence his message. He died because no one in power wanted anyone to think for themselves.

To me, faith is trusting God for my own path. Don’t get me wrong, there are some fine preachers and some beautiful churches. If you feel comfortable with the messages you get by attending there, by all means, please do continue to follow that guidance.

However, if you’re still searching, consider looking this way and see what you come up with.

There is a preacher I know that I’d listen to every week if I wanted to convert to being a Pentecostal. He is a fine, fine man. I like my jeans and shorts. There is another preacher I used to tend to as a customer in a Waffle. Talking to him on any given day leads me to not think he’s got anything to teach me on Sunday morning. Maybe he does and I just don’t know it, but I just haven’t felt led to be there. Other people have, obviously. I am okay with that too.

I think it’s okay to be led by those speaking to your soul and bringing light into your life. I also think it’s okay to check in with your own self, your own prayers, and your own guidance. No one knows you and your needs better than God.

No matter who you are or what kind of path you walk, may you find peace and understanding along the way. No matter what your path is, if you need more light, I would be happy to write one of my “handwritten hugs” snail mail letters to you. Yes, I feel they are God led, but not all of them are religious. Some of the letters are simply, “Life’s hard sometimes. It’s okay to cry. Try again tomorrow.”

Thoughts and Perspectives, Bible

I’ve been researching lots as of late…trying to seek out more of my personal path. I want to let go of the panic, fear, and worry in certain areas of my life…to have more room for grace, love, and right direction.

In the process, I’ve come across Bible talking, verses to explore, and a new insight into validation for my perspective. I’m not one to explore the Bible more than what God gives to me because I know it’s a tricky slope to wander.

There are some people completely sure of the words in their Bible; however, there are also many versions of the Bible with different perspectives and guidelines they follow. A Pentecostal clearly sees the Bible differently than a Catholic. A Jehovah’s Witness has a different perspective than a Baptist. I am not saying any of them are wrong as it’s what each person feels in their heart to be truth words to them. I am saying it proves this world is much more diverse and needs more understanding of each other than just, “Are you saved?”

Some people tell us psychics we’re wrong and not following God in our life. One of my biggest eye openers this week was being reminded that Jesus appeared after his death several times, in spirit. That means he appeared to someone having the ability to see him. That right there is considered a psychic phenomena.

I was also comforted by the verse 1 Peter 4:10, which states “use the gifts you are given”. It says directly that God gave gifts. I believe everyone is known for something that people seek them out for. It could be a great apple pie, organizing books, or being a doctor. It is something unique to that no one else does quite like anyone else.

My ongoing analogy in this area is the gift of singing. There are lots of songs many different singers cover. Because each person’s voice is unique, despite them singing the same exact song with most of the same exact tune, each version is different. That’s how it is. That’s the beauty of differences.

Old Testament and New Testament

An interesting perspective came to mind just now and I really felt it was a great thought for Easter Sunday. So, here I am, with coffee at 5 am on the Saturday before, writing this, for your reading tomorrow. Enjoy.

Sometimes God shows me perspectives at random moments when I’m more open to messages and not rambling through my own head with whatever comes to mind about my life. This is what happened just now. I woke up, wondered if I should stay up, then wondered what would be a great post for Easter in particular. This is what I got.

What do the Old Testament and the New Testament have in common? Both the people of the old testament and Jesus in the new testament spoke directly to God. They had conversations with God, prayed directly to him, listened to his guidance based on how each of them felt guided.

This is a huge perspective revelation for me. Maybe you’ve noticed it already and think it’s “old news”. lol That’s okay. I’m not an avid Bible reader at all. Growing up Catholic, we really didn’t use Bibles. I’d gone to my grandmother’s Pentecostal church a few times over the years as a child and saw Bibles in everyone’s hands. From time to time, God will send me a Bible verse or passage to add to my knowledge in that area or I will look up specific verses if I’ve come across something I want to learn more about.

So, this morning the revelation of both books showing direct contact with God in the way of connecting with God was a huge insight to me. This point alone should give a perspective shift that causes clarity of such a magnitude as to allow for the possibility of better communication between God and oneself. It’s there. It’s clear. God spoke. People listened, even Jesus.

Here’s another tidbit I want to share with you. It’s something I’ve long believed. Jesus came to teach us how to live that one-on-one faith with God. Jesus didn’t come to die on a cross and save our souls in such a manner. Jesus came to teach us how to REALLY live in FAITH. It’s as simple as that.

If you’d like to deepen your faith or find guidance in your Bible, read the red letters. Read where Jesus spoke…only those passages. Take notes if you’d like. Feel Jesus’ words sinking into your soul, healing the pain and hurt, filling it with love and comfort. It could happen. It could happen to you.

Finding God

When people ask, “Have you found Jesus?”, I wonder what that means to them. I’ve heard responses from the truthful, “Yes. No. I thought I did. Not interested.”, to the joking, “I wasn’t aware he was lost.” I feel, personally, that people are missing the point…the whole point…of God. I am being completely serious when I say this. Here’s why….

If you follow your bible, Jesus said he came so that we may have life. I feel strongly that people were supposed to learn from him in how to have a one-on-one connection with God. That is why he spoke. That is what he wanted to teach. That was his way of life. Yet many, many only see Jesus as their savior for their sins…not a teacher for reviving their soul. Did you catch that? Jesus wanted us to learn what a real connection with God is, not to die for the sins of a man who wouldn’t wake up to what it means to live a fulfilled spiritual life.

Jesus prayed alone. He listened to God directly. He followed what he felt led to do. He trusted God completely. I think the question should be, “Do you want a great one-on-one relationship with God, like Jesus has?”

Jesus came to teach. God wants the one-on-one with you, anytime you’ll have him.
