Letting Go Letter Project

I wrote this just now on my personal FB page:
“If you’re feeling overwhelmed or just simply tired of being the one that holds it all. You know what I mean, taking care of everyone else and there’s no one there to listen to your woes. Even if they were, that comes with it’s own set of vulnerabilities. Maybe, you’d like to simply unload all of your worries, fears, shadows, insecurities, etc., but don’t know where to do that in a safe space. The idea came to me last night to create the “Letting Go Letter” Project.

If you are one of these people, I want to offer you that safe space. You can write your letter, two lines, three pages, however you need, and send it to me by snail mail. By writing to release, you may shed that which you don’t know how to let go of, but need to. Also, I will pray for you over that letter.”

It’s an idea that came to me in the middle of the night last night. It’s just before 6 am here. I’ve had the idea before, but nothing ever happened. The idea surfaced again, so I am offering it again. Maybe this time it will fill a need.

We live in a world whereby people give us their opinions and suggestions, sometimes expecting you to follow through with their things. Maybe that person would think you’re weak, maybe they’d want you to “get over it already”? Maybe they feel you’re super blessed, so why have any troubled mind? Maybe you’ve always been considered the strong one, so how could you possibly need a shoulder to cry on? Maybe you’re still carrying around abuse feelings of shame and you don’t want to tell someone from that time nor do you want to tell someone new? Maybe you’re doing your best as a parent and feel that you fall short sometimes, that may not seem like a huge thing, but writing out your fears about it will help release them to make room in your life for more confidence and bravery and self-assurance.

I could write out a lot of “Maybes” here. Whatever it is, whatever your maybe really is, I am offering you a safe space to write down your valid feelings. Use my contact page to get my snail mail and use this project as a tool to let go of what isn’t healthy in your mind, heart, and soul.

Learn by Observing

Yesterday I was playing one of my little computer games. I had played it before, years ago. The game was probably in it’s infant stages of being created back then, because I’d gotten to the an ending point where I could go no farther forward.

About a month ago, I bought a tablet and sought out some games to put on it. I discover this game again, download it, and find it’s expanded a great deal from that beginning. I’m enjoying the game much more this time around.

There is a base “Camp” with activities to grow the board. I used to think there wasn’t much to that part of the game, mostly being interested in the little challenge games. What I’ve come to find is a complex part of the game.

We were lining things up next to each other as we accomplished them, bigger trees, a pond surrounded by blooming flowers, pretty bushes in their spot. It made the board neater.

Last night I discovered that the bigger things, the trees, bushes, pond, all needed space around them to “give” whatever it is they are programmed to give. The pond gives grass, the trees give little flowers, the bushes give mushrooms. It’s quite fun.

It was an interesting observation for me though. These things must have breathing room to grow. Isn’t that part of how we are? Don’t we need breathing room, exploring room, space to feel freedom in? Wouldn’t putting people and things right next to us make us feel restricted, claustrophobic, not able to move in any direction…much less a forward direction? It was a powerful observation for me. Maybe it will be so for you?

Our Lives are what we Create

I watched a movie yesterday about space-time continuum. It was a fiction, but I’d seen several movies like that before and enjoyed them, Deja-Vu, Butterfly Effect. I find it fascinating. The reason being, each movie, in some way, show how our lives really are what we create within it.

Some things remain the same and that gives the thought we will encounter certain people and have certain experiences regardless of what we consciously choose. Some people believe we map out some of these things before we get here as part of what we want to learn as humans on this Earth. That’s getting on a different spiritual way of thinking, yes, but it is valid for some people.

This is what I believe the most, part of our lives are a series of connections we will encounter and the other part is what we create for ourselves while we’re on the journey. So what’s predestined and what’s created? That’s a question I can’t answer. I think that makes for interesting and actually helps heighten our awareness of our lives. Heightens our depth of feeling what we’re living and creating. Heightens our being in the moment we’re in. Elevates our vibes in such a way as to have a depth to our soul.
