How is your faith holding up?

How is your own personal faith holding up? Do you feel it’s a 10 on a 1-10 scale? A 5? Maybe even a 1? Your faith could even be none.

My faith has been around me from as far back as I can remember. I had gone to Catholic and Pentecostal services. One day, in Sunday school, I got to pick from a little treasure chest. I chose a plastic bookmark with the words “God is Love” on it. I hung that bookmark in my room. It became my mantra about God.

As a former Catholic, we didn’t have a Bible. My Pentecostal grandparents had one and read theirs often. I wasn’t encouraged or swayed by them in that regard either.

The bookmark though, it’s how I’ve seen God over the years. My faith doesn’t ever go to a zero on that scale. I’ve been mad at God. I’ve argued with God. I’ve taken my own “time outs” about my faith from time to time, during rough patches whereby I had troubling situations. Even then my faith was at least a 1. I always thought of God as a presence that didn’t leave me. If I see God as love, then the love remains. My own troubles in my life could have been from a million different things.

Maybe I’d made some choices that weren’t the best, maybe someone close to me did, maybe it was something to go through for another person to see for their own life. It’s been a lot of this over the years. Life’s meant to be lived, experienced, and shared.

My faith does stay fairly high the majority of the time though. My connection with God, in my thinking, is solid…even if it feels thin every now and then. I pray often, ask the Angels for assistance, and trust I’m being looked after.

Having faith, in my thinking, is this very thing…trusting that I’m being looked after. There is a powerfully deep feeling in my soul by this. Even if my faith wavers, even if your faith wavers, it’s still there because we want it to be there. Having faith, wherever it is on the scale, is sometimes the thing that gets us through to the other side. It’s valid. It’s real. It’s important to us.

Don’t throw away your faith if you’re going through a tough time. I mean, it’s okay to throw it away if you want to. Some people do choose another path and that’s their choice, but if you’re just going through a rough patch and you’re wondering why you’re going through it, trust it’s part of a bigger picture and you are STILL being looked after.

If you are going through something, pray on it, then allow God’s assistance and listen to your intuitive nudges. Some of the biggest changes in our lives happen by the softest of spiritual direction.

Life and Time, part 2

So, more about time. I am not suggesting you use every minute to be productive or fill in every bit of space with “something”. I am simply suggesting you become more aware of it and how you use it.

One of my favorite things to do is lay on my grass and look up at the sky. It’s using up time, yes, but it also reminds me of the vastness of the Universe that has been created. It reminds me to appreciate the moment I am in, to breathe, and simply feel the wind.

I’ve been in this lifetime for about 48 years. Some years have been more productive than others. Some moments I’m super proud of, other moments I’d rather not remember. I can’t change what was behind me. Sometimes an apology can be enough to fix something I’ve done, other times…the thing isn’t fixable. Sometimes one must set a boundary based on another’s actions, these things too are fixable in certain situations, other times not.

What this has done for me, especially this year, is to “check-in” with myself about how I’m using my time, what I’m allowing in my life, and how well I’m actually navigating myself.

Do I want to continue a certain relationship, friendship, work environment? Is there enough quality there? Have you made excuses for so long you’ve now considered the brokenness normal? Are you pursuing the dreams you’ve held dear? Are you making excuses for that too?

Okay, let me give you something smaller in the way of time. There are dishes to be done. In the time it takes to make a pot of coffee, I can do a smaller load of dishes. I dislike doing dishes. It’s like they grow and grow and there’s always that lone dish or spoon I miss. However, if I take that moment to wash while a pot of coffee is brewing, I can clean the dishes, then sit down to a cup of coffee AND clean dishes in a span of 10 minutes. That’s somewhat satisfying to me in some small organized way.

Sometimes you find yourself in a rush when it comes to time. It can be for any number of reasons. In the bigger scheme of things, there may be no need to be rushed. Giving yourself calmness in this space is a great gift. You really can’t go any faster than you’re going and having a clearer head allows your vibe to not be ruffled. I ask you, “Do you want to be frustrated in this moment?” Or, “Can you relax while being in traffic or looking for a particular object?” Or, “What if you are late in some way, it’s merely an adjustment to work through.”

Think on these things. How do you see time? How are you handling it? Can you adjust your view in a way that allows you more serenity?

Life and Time

I think about the life we have and the time we have in it. It doesn’t matter if you believe you’ve only got this one life or you think you’ve come here many times…to then come back another day. Do you know why? Because that’s kind of not relevant in the today that you’re living.

What are you doing with the time you’ve got today? Are you taking care of yourself? Are you showing love to those you have claimed to love? Are you being kind for kindness sake?

In a way, knowing time is passing by can make us impatient. Some of us don’t necessarily want to find ourselves in a long line at the grocery store and others want to be in that perfect relationship already.

Even so, how do you view time? Do you look back on your childhood, maybe one of not much kindness. Do you look back at that first marriage, thankful you’re no longer in it.

Time is really how you’re living in the moments you’re in. On the one hand, you can say, “Okay, that household chore can wait until tomorrow.” On the other hand, I hold my young one extra tight at night to give as much love to her as I can in that moment, knowing one day I won’t be here.

While I’m always speaking on individuality and shining one’s best self, I think time…time itself…may very well trump it. How are you spending your time?

I will post more on this. I hope you enjoyed this message. Please feel free to donate: http://paypal.me/aprildaisy

Refresher of Beliefs

Hi, welcome back!

I figured it would be a nice idea to post a refresher of what the beliefs are in this space. I’ve long believed God to be of love and kindness and sort of a partnership rather than someone waiting to count the times you mess up and hold them against you.

We’re human. Even if we’re spiritual beings in a body or you believe you only get this one lifetime, you’re still creating every day to the best of your abilities. Some of those days are magnificent and exceptional. Other days it’s all you can do to hold on to your faith and possibly sanity.

Fussing at yourself for what you didn’t do is a waste. You can’t change yesterday, no matter how hard you may try. No amount of magic or wishing or even praying will fix that. No. Going forward and creating in this day to either do better, speak better, or be kinder is how you change the vibes around you and give yourself a better day and maybe a better life.

In my thinking, God simply expects you do to your best and be kind where you can. He also gives you the freedom to create this life in whatever fashion you want, but is happiest when you seek his aid, love, and grace. Not to control you and have you live in shame, but to combine the divine magic with the human magic and create an awesome life to shine so that you live your innate truth and allow others to come out of hiding to do the same.

Shadows will always be there, just like there’s a day and a night, but being true to yourself is key to a life better than not.

Hello!

I started this blog as a way to share my own personal journey with God. It’s an unusual journey in that I have faith in God, yet also practice several intuitive gifts, like writing letters of comfort, understanding color messages, and navigating the journey of being different than most normals.

People came here, enjoyed my unique style of encouragement and showing a loving God and this blog had grown rather quickly in the short time I was cultivating it. Still, I did my restless wandering soul thing and wandered into other aspects of my life, feeling like searching for “something”.

This has been a year of searching my soul and talents and things that spark joy. Just when I think I’ve got it figured out, something sways me into another direction. The one thing that hasn’t ever been swayed is my faith in God and the one-on-one relationship we have. The things that really touch my soul are the personal messages I give to people. Many times, these messages touch their soul too. To me, that’s the biggest win-win on the planet.

In this thinking, I’m back here, sharing my oddball way of life, encouraging you to be yourself, build a healthy loving faith in God, and hopefully help you to feel cared for.

Letting Go Letter Project

I wrote this just now on my personal FB page:
“If you’re feeling overwhelmed or just simply tired of being the one that holds it all. You know what I mean, taking care of everyone else and there’s no one there to listen to your woes. Even if they were, that comes with it’s own set of vulnerabilities. Maybe, you’d like to simply unload all of your worries, fears, shadows, insecurities, etc., but don’t know where to do that in a safe space. The idea came to me last night to create the “Letting Go Letter” Project.

If you are one of these people, I want to offer you that safe space. You can write your letter, two lines, three pages, however you need, and send it to me by snail mail. By writing to release, you may shed that which you don’t know how to let go of, but need to. Also, I will pray for you over that letter.”

It’s an idea that came to me in the middle of the night last night. It’s just before 6 am here. I’ve had the idea before, but nothing ever happened. The idea surfaced again, so I am offering it again. Maybe this time it will fill a need.

We live in a world whereby people give us their opinions and suggestions, sometimes expecting you to follow through with their things. Maybe that person would think you’re weak, maybe they’d want you to “get over it already”? Maybe they feel you’re super blessed, so why have any troubled mind? Maybe you’ve always been considered the strong one, so how could you possibly need a shoulder to cry on? Maybe you’re still carrying around abuse feelings of shame and you don’t want to tell someone from that time nor do you want to tell someone new? Maybe you’re doing your best as a parent and feel that you fall short sometimes, that may not seem like a huge thing, but writing out your fears about it will help release them to make room in your life for more confidence and bravery and self-assurance.

I could write out a lot of “Maybes” here. Whatever it is, whatever your maybe really is, I am offering you a safe space to write down your valid feelings. Use my contact page to get my snail mail and use this project as a tool to let go of what isn’t healthy in your mind, heart, and soul.

God showing light unconventionally

I love documentaries and biographies. I find people fascinating and how they got from here to there are stories I love to know. These stories show how connections are made, how paths cross, how people create their lives. Fascinating!!

I recently watched the Dolemite movie on Netflix. I don’t know who this man is, but my husband does. I just wanted to see the documentary. It’s a lot of language, a lot. It’s also filled with one man’s dream to be somebody. He was known as Rudy Ray Moore.

After watching the movie, I went on Wikipedia to see what else I could discover about him. It turns out he took his Mama to church often. That surprised me. All the language he spoke as the character Dolemite would have me thinking he didn’t have that aspect of his life. He did. He went on to say that Dolemite was a character he played and didn’t completely define who he was as a person. This is a very good point to be made.

Snoop Dogg was in the movie too. So, went looking at Wikipedia on him too. He wrote a gospel album. Fascinating! I’m listening to some of the songs on YouTube right now. It’s really awesome. The song with Patti LaBelle (When it’s all over) really blows things out of the water.

So, at 5 am this morning, I am reminded that people you wouldn’t think to give you God light in some way are actually doing just that. I used to think that I would have to give up my cursing and “act more proper” to be giving people God light. I realized in that moment that’s really not the situation at all.

God can bring light into anyone’s life. He can have people who don’t seem “qualified” to help bring light into someone’s life, especially in their time of need. I’d had inklings of this feeling before, but it somehow didn’t settle into my soul until this morning.

I remember, once, reading cards for a man who was having trouble with his faith. He still believed in God, but was having trouble with the religion he’d always known. I encouraged him to seek out God personally and to consider exploring other religions to find a better fit. He was fascinated that I’d read tarot cards, things that aren’t necessarily considered “God tools” to help him with his God faith. I just always trust the message I get for people. Sometimes I realize the message, sometimes it feels like regular conversation. I fascinate myself in that way.

God, no matter who you are, will try to bring light into your life if that’s what you’re seeking. Don’t think the method should always be traditional. It isn’t always.

So, your blessing arrives and….

So, your blessing arrives and it is nothing like what you were trying to create; however, it is much better than what you had in mind! How about them apples?!

That said, what about what you were trying to create? What about the money you spent? What about the classes you took? Is it all for nothing? Does regret want to sneak in? Do you feel as if you’ve wasted something?

This very thing is happening to me right now. My husband and I spent so much money attempting to redo a very old family house. We’re talking in the 10s of thousands of dollars so far sunk into it, along with our own personal sweat and tears.

Then, something awesome came along, the perfect home for us. You may be asking why were we even looking at something else while we were clearly working on the original idea. Well, some of it is that we discovered the original idea would take a great deal more money to finish and another bit of it was simply to consider another option.

So, along came this better option and we’re going in that direction. How do we know it’s the right direction? There were LOTS of signs pointing to this home for us. From the first phone call I made to the woman selling it to the walk-through we made shortly thereafter, and everything in between…connections were being made.

Okay, so, back to the original thought…what about all of the money we put into the older family house? Well, regret could happen, crying could happen, feeling wasteful or sad could happen…but…where would that get me in today? Will regretting putting money into the older house change the fact that we did that and tried that route? Will crying because we just couldn’t make that happen make me feel better today? No, none of that.

The truth is, today is a day we came across something that is working in our favor about where we’re to live. This is now a clear direction in which to go and whatever else we tried before this moment was okay in THAT moment. We will now go forward with a home, one we’ll actually live in, and be at peace with how the path went for us.

I hope you can find something in these words to see a perspective in your own life so that you will let go of regret and upset by things you can’t change like that, but to accept the new path and go forward knowing your life will become better by this clear divine direction.

Okay, so, I have been playing around with this little deck (poker sized cards) and it’s amazing! I’ve given one card pulls several different times to people and it’s been spot on every single time. I’m amazed!! I want to encourage you, if you are looking for a way to deepen your faith or seek guidance from God in an unconventional, intuitive way, to buy these cards.

You could do a daily or weekly pull, journal about it, simply be more alert to the message in your day, or any way you feel led to use them, but they are an awesome tool for being helpful.

Here’s a direct link to the buy page for you. https://www.makeplayingcards.com/sell/marketplace/god-in-the-cards-april-daisy.html

God in the Cards — official deck

I created a deck of cards from tarot guidelines to be used as a tool in the aid of intuition in a one-on-one faith with God. The intention is to offer something that wasn’t the Bible, but definitely something tangible to help guide oneself along when needed.

The first deck came in and I love everything about it. I figured I’d like it and that was enough, but the reality is, I super duper love it. It’s all that I imagined and more. It’s vibe is good. The readings are spot on. The encouragement is there in spades. I love them more every single time I use them. They literally are a gentle intuitive tool for “checking in” with your intuition or on your path at some spots to give a perspective outside of oneself.

If you’d like a card read for you, please get with me on my contact page for particulars. I will be giving one card readings for $5 each. You can choose one card just because, one daily, one weekly, one per topic, etc. This is just an amazing experience!
